On January 28th, 2009, the world was introduced to one of the most unique sounding voices, Megan Joy Knudsen (formerly Megan Joy Corkrey) on the show "American Idol" in Salt Lake City, Utah. The twenty three year old single mother came to us unpolished and completely natural, not having any prior experience or training. She is exactly what Idol was meant for: to find someone with just natural, raw talent. She made a big impression on not only the judges but also to the viewers with her quirky version of Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man by Helen Morgan, landing her a spot in Hollywood, where she breezed through and sung her way into our top 36, where she also sung her way into the hearts of millions. While she didn't make it through on Group 2 night (she lost out a spot to Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, and Kris Allen), but she was given a second chance, and was picked on Wild Card night, joining the historical Idol top 13. From there, she hilariously caw'd her way to ninth place, leaving us with some very memorable performances, including the infamous Rockin' Robin and the gorgeous Walkin' After Midnight. Her last song on the show was Turn Your Lights Down Low. Currently, she is preparing to go on the Idol summer tour with the rest of the top ten.
